Hi Everyone,
The Board of Directors and I want to Thank everyone for reelecting us for 2008. This year is already shaping up to be another banner year at the NMA!
Our first auction was a great success. I want to THANK the sellers, the bidders and Jim Donahue for donating all of his sales to the NMA plus Fernando and Tom for running the whole auction so smoothly. It was a lot of fun and also very entertaining. We should try to make the auction an annual NMA event.
Mike Valiante gave out a bunch of very colorful publicity posters for the Nelson Nicholson collection that was on display at The College of New Rochelle’s gallery. Thanks Mike.
The annual Banquet is tentatively set for Saturday May 10, 2008. We will need volunteers for the stage show, close up performers and all other Banquet related positions. Please sign up and support your club.
2008 club dues are now being collected. If you have not yet paid, PLEASE see Fernando. I am hoping that this year we can have our largest membership ever!
I saw many NMA members at the Fielding West lecture that took place at the Mystical Magic Shop last month. The lecture was fantastic and congratulations to Russ Loller for sponsoring his first lecture. By the way, Russ is now a member of the NMA.
As you all know, I always try to keep the business part of each monthly meeting as brief as possible but from time to time there is club business that must be discussed. Just like everyone else I want to get to the MAGIC as quickly as possible for that is the reason why we all joined a MAGIC club in the first place!
Still on the mend are Charlie Cambra and Nelson Nicholson. We wish them a speedy recovery and hope to see you both soon.
